A FUNDRAISING challenge that sees entrants canoe, cycle and run or walk along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal returns for a second year in September.
The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canalathon 2015 sees teams of four cover a 33-mile route of the canal. The challenge starts with a five-mile canoe between Pontymoile Basin and Goytre Wharf before a 17-mile cycle ride along the towpath to Llangynidr.
The last stretch of the route is an 11-mile walk or run to the Brecon Canal Basin where a range of activities will be taking place.
The event is organised by the Monmouthshire, Brecon and Abergavenny Canals Trust. which works to improve and preserve the historic waterway.
Entry is £180 per team. and includes open canoes, t-shirt, medal, certificate of achievement and a meal at the finish. The challenge must be completed in less than 12 hours. The event takes place on September 6.
