A TRAINEE mechanic from Ringland ha said he is “gutted” after his bike was stolen from outside Coleg Gwent’s Nash campus.
Kyle Thomas, aged 18, had been studying all day but when he came back outside to ride home, he noticed his bike was not where he had locked it up.
Instead, his friend’s bike, which it had been locked together with, was lying on the floor and his was nowhere to be found.
Mr Thomas, who was given the bike as a Christmas present from his mum and dad last year, said: “It does mean quite a bit to me. I use it all the time to get back and forth to college and I’d go out with my friends because they’ve all got bikes too. I have just been walking to college, which takes about an hour. My nan gave me a lift home on Friday.
“I was gutted. It’s cheap that someone would steal it when it was locked up. I just didn’t expect it. I’ve never had anything stolen before.
“I’ve got no idea who might have stolen it.”
He said it would be “great to find the bike again” and hopes anyone with information might get in touch with Gwent Police.
Kyle’s aunt Danielle Thomas said: “They cut the lock off and chucked one bike on the floor and took my nephew’s.”
The black, grey and yellowy green Carrera bike is said to be worth around £500. It was taken on April 15.
