NEWPORT was awash with colour today (Sunday) as hundreds of scouts, beavers and cubs marched through the city in celebration of St George’s Day.
The youngsters were taking part in an annual parade on a sunny day to remember their patron saint, St George.
Around 500 leaders, scouts, and cubs were said to have taken part in the parade featuring marching musicians.
They paraded in Cambrian Road this afternoon, passing through Bridge Street and Godfrey Road, ahead of a service at St Mark’s Church at 3pm.
The scouts were joined by dignitaries including Newport Mayor Matthew Evans.
