Jessie Jones was found yesterday afternoon safe and well.
UPDATE: 10.47am
THE family of a pensioner who went missing yesterday afternoon say they are desperately worried about her.
Jessie Jones, 75, was last seen at her Govilon home when the meals on wheels service visited her between midday and 12.30pm on Tuesday.
Miss Jones, who has Dementia, was believed to have left her home in the School Lane area at around 1pm to walk her black and white terrier called Rex.
Her nephew, Philip Jones, of Brynmawr, said: “The family is desperately worried about her.”
“She has a home help three times a day and always walks the dog three times a day and usually takes the same route in the village every day and does go onto the cycle track.”
"We're really concerned that she may have gone running after her dog and may have fallen."
Police, family and friends have been searching for Miss Jones but so far no sightings have been made.
“We were out looking for her in the early hours of this morning, checking the cycle track, fields and canal path. She used to live at the Tilla, above Gilwern where she was born and so may have been trying to make her way there.”
“She wasn’t carrying any more or her bus pass and never the left area. She has a lot of family and friends in the Gilwern and Govilon area.”
“If anyone sees her or her dog which may have come loose please contact the police,” he added.
Miss Jones is described as approximately 5ft 6inches tall, has short brown hair, possibly wearing a cream jacket, burgundy trousers and was walking her dog Rex.
Anyone who has any information on her whereabouts is asked to call Gwent Police on 101 and quote log number 321 28/4/15.
