UKIP – Gareth Dunn
Gareth has lived in Monmouth for 10 years and is a physics teacher. Previously, he was a geophysicist working on seismic survey vessels in the Atlantic and travelled widely in Africa and South America. He then worked in the UK as a software engineer in military radar systems before deciding to change careers and complete a postgraduate certificate in education.
Gareth has stood for UKIP in the 2003 Scottish Parliamentary elections, the 2010 general election, the Welsh Assembly elections in 2011 and finally in the 2014 European elections.
Gareth believes the case for leaving the EU is unanswerable. "Democracy is bled away, our money squandered, our laws brushed aside, our borders opened and our ability to trade worldwide restricted. The old parties are culpable, remote and arrogant. Only UKIP can bring them to account."

"The English Democrats do not have the party whip system, as such I am free to look after the interest of local people and not the interest of the party leader.

Green – Christopher Were
I am standing because I feel that mainstream British politics lacks a true progressive option for voters.
I fully support the Green policies we've decided to campaign on here in Wales which include, but are certainly not limited to, addressing pay inequality between men and women, a reformed benefits system which can help people both in and out of work, a strong mandate for renewable energy and the de-criminalisation of cannabis.
