Neighbourhood Watch Scheme: Community Police are proposing to set up Neighbourhood Watch Schemes throughout Cwmbran to combat anti-social behaviour.
To discover how interested you are in a scheme to cover Ponthir, a public meeting will be held in the village hall at 7pm on Wednesday, April 4.
You are all invited to attend this meeting. Local Police Officers will be hosting the meeting.
Traffic Calming Measures: A new scheme has been proposed by Torfaen County Borough Council and the Welsh Assembly Government that will include flashing speed warning signs at each end of the 30mph section of the B4236, Caerleon Road in Ponthir village and associated road markings throughout the village.
This work will be started in the near future.
All Saints Church, lLanfrechfa: A series of open days has been arranged for the church.
Visitors will be most welcome to spend some time studying the Victorian architecture and seeing some of the ancient relics.
The church will be open on Easter Monday, between 10am and 5pm; Spring Bank Holiday, May 28, 10am to 5pm and Saturday, October 13, 10am to 5pm.
