POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted on Goldcroft Common in Caerleon last weekend.
The 55-year-old man local man was allegedly assaulted by another man at around 10pm on Friday, June 5.
He suffered facial injuries and was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital for treatment.
A 48-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
