MORE than 40 people watched a man attempt to retrieve a bike stuck in the mud at the Riverfront in Newport on Monday night.
The man had seen the bike discarded between Town Bridge and the Riverfront Theatre at around 7.30pm.
Around 40 people watched from Town Bridge and applauded him as he managed to get back on to dry land after attempting to claim the abandoned bike.
Gwent Police attended the scene but did not need to rescue the man.
A spokesman said it was a case of “cycle recycled”.
