A NEWPORT family is celebrating five generations of women in the family after the birth of their newest addition - a baby girl.
21-year-old Emily Westwood gave birth to Charlotte on Friday, May 29, the latest in the line of females in the family.
Baby Charlotte, just 12 days old, joins her grandma, Julie Westwood, 42, her great-grandmother 63-year-old Vicky Crocker, and her great-great-grandmother Eileen Cornford, 86.
Mum Emily, who said little Charlotte is "really good" and has only just started grizzling, said having the five generations together is "just really nice".
She said: "It's like an accomplishment really, it's something not many families get to have so we are lucky.
"I never really understood it before, my great-nan mentioned it before, but since I had a baby I get it.
"It's just nice to pass stories on, share stories between us. It's something to be remembered."
Emily said she had been hoping for a baby girl and was pleased when the pregnancy gender scanner told her the news.
The day the photograph was taken of all five ladies was the first time Emily's great-nan Eileen Cornford had met Charlotte.
Emily said: "It's nice she's seen her and she was pleased."
