A 53-YEAR-OLD manager who works in Ebbw Vale is hoping to raise £5,000 for a leukaemia charity by cycling 500km from London to Paris this week.
Amateur cyclist Kevin Drew will be setting off on the cross-border trip on Thursday, June 18, after having clocked up around 150 miles a week in training.
He will join more than 300 others as he takes part in the London 2 Paris Inspiring the Revolution event which aims to raise a total of £2 million in two years for charity Cure Leukaemia.
Mr Drew is the Engineering and CI Manager at Zorba delicacies and the Real Soup Company, based at Rassau Industrial Estate, and said it is a “tough challenge” but it is one he is really looking forward to”.
The ride from Thursday until Monday, will take around 96 hours or four days.
