A MOTHER-of-three will cycle from Bethlehem to Jericho to raise money for Palestinian villages she visited as a volunteer last year.
The route is in Wales and England, as Ann Davison from Llandogo will cycle 160 miles from Bethlehem in Carmarthenshire to Jericho in Oxford next week, accompanied by her daughter, Kirsty Brown.
They are looking to raise money for villages the Trellech United Community Council clerk visited in 2014 for three months, monitoring and reporting on human rights abuses by the occupying Israeli army and settlers as an ‘ecumenical accompanier’.
She said she is looking to collect £3,500 – some of which she hopes will be spent on planting thyme bushes in the Um al Kher village, in its push to sell za’atar, a common herb mix in the Middle East.
But she said she was wary of riding a bike because she has ridden one so rarely over the last two decades since she moved to Monmouthshire.
