DAY 7

The whole cast were treated to a well-deserved lie-in this morning, although I feel absolutely exhausted by this point. It’s the very last day and I've loved every minute of being here. I would recommend anyone to do this show if they could. It's just a lovely thing and it's made me even more passionate and proud about coming from Wales.

Today we learnt the National Anthem – and it was wonderful to know what it actually means. So many of us may know it and sing it before rugby matches but to get to know what the words actually mean really makes you realise just how rich this language is.

But the singing didn't stop there as we were loaded on to a minibus and taken to a recording studio in nearby Tywyn. We were then asked to sing a song composed especially for us to the tune of 'Ar hyd y nos' about our experiences. All in Welsh, of course. We all had a line each to sing. I'd love to be able to 'canu' (to sing) and would swap my medals to be a professional singer any day. But you'll have to tune in to listen to the song!

Nia and Ioan are amazing teachers, although I thought they were totally crazy for the first couple of days. But then you find that there's method in their madness. I haven't come away with huge amounts of Welsh but it's definitely in there somewhere, and now I'll definitely be saying 'diolch' and 'nos da'. The penny dropped on what the programme is about - showing non-Welsh speakers that the language belongs to everybody.

I'll miss the banter, and the whole experience. It's going to be pretty 'trist' (sad) to leave. But we've all agreed to keep in touch and practise a bit of Welsh now and again.

Steve is one of the funniest people I've ever met and gets on with me too. We definitely have a similar sense of humour.

Chris and Shanklin are real characters and Caroline was such a star until she sang last night at the fire.

If you're thinking about learning Welsh then I would say go for it and don't get discouraged. If you're passionate about being Welsh, then why not pick up the language too. Let's do this together!
