FOUR men and a woman from Newport have been charged with supplying heroin after drugs and firearms raids on Thursday night.
James Hawes, aged 37, of Howe Circle; Dionne Hobbs, aged 31, of Howe Circle; Jamaal Swarby, 21, of Chepstow Road; and Anthony Bowyer, 28, Thornbury Park, Rogerstone, all appeared at Newport Magistrates Court earlier this morning (June 19).
They were all charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (heroin) and were remanded in custody before a preliminary hearing at Newport Crown Court on July 2.
The raids followed the execution of a number of warrants in Merseyside, South Wales and Devon and Cornwall on Thursday night.
A total of 22 people were charged after the drugs and firearms raids.
They all appeared at their respective Magistrates Court in Merseyside, South Wales and Devon/Cornwall.
