UPDATE, 1.08pm: A Welsh Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed paramedics were called to the accident at 11.18am. They gave four people a precautionary check-up.
UPDATE: 11.32am: A Gwent Police spokeswoman said officers were called to the accident, between two cars on the M4, at 10.55am. There were no injuries and recovery of the vehicles is taking place.
UPDATE, 11.27am: The M4 is partially blocked and there is very slow traffic westbound before junction 27 because of a multi-vehicle accident. Traffic is backing to junction 25a.
UPDATE, 10.22am: There is slow traffic on the A4042 northbound between Newport and the Croes-Y-Mwyalch roundabout due to roadworks.
UPDATE, 8.49am: The George Street Bridge is busy but moving between the Lower Dock Street junction and the Corporation Road junction.
UPDATE, 8.38am: There is slow traffic on the A48 inbound at Pont Ebbw roundabout in Newport.
UPDATE, 8.24am: The A4051 Malpas Road is busy but moving southbound before Malpas Road.
UPDATE, 8.04am: There is heavy traffic on the M4 westbound before junction 25a.
UPDATE, 7.20am: There is also traffic queueing on the A467 Forge Road southbound before Tredegar Park in Newport.
7.17am: There is heavy traffic on the M4 eastbound in Newport between junction 27 at Highcross and junction 26 on Malpas Road.
