A ROGUE Cwmbran car salesman is facing jail after threatening to burn down a customer's house following a dispute.
Robert Knight, 41, of RK Transport Trade Centre Ltd, was also aggressive to more than a dozen other customers - and sold another man a car which was dangerous, a court heard.
Knight pleaded guilty to 15 charges at Cardiff Crown Court of engaging in unfair commercial practice and one count of supplying a dangerous product.
Prosecutor Lee Reynolds told the court 16 customers had complained about his abusive and dangerous behaviour.
Mr Reynolds said: "A female customer had car keys forcibly taken from her.
"He was aggressive towards customers and threatened to burn down the home of one."
The complaints about Reynolds' behaviour at his garage in Llantarnam Road, Cwmbran, were first aired last year on BBC Wales' X-Ray programme.
Shani and Aaron Carter, from Cwmbran, told the programme that Knight had been aggressive towards them after a Renault Megane they had bought from the garage for £2,000 had repeated problems.
Shani told the programme: "I had my four-year-old boy with me at the time who was also sat in the car.
"He was very much in my face and then if he wasn't in my face, he would be charging back and forth shouting obscenities.
"He was swearing to get off his forecourt and I just thought, It's not worth this with my son here."
Michelle and William Perry, from Llandybie near Ammanford, said they had a similar experience after a Ford Galaxy they bought for just over £2,000 had repeated problems.
Michelle said: "He came out of the office with three or four men standing behind him... You can't televise what he was saying. Abusive, arrogant and just threatening."
Knight was remanded on bail by Judge David Wynn Morgan at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday but warned he could receive a jail sentence next month.
Judge Morgan told him: "Plainly these matters do not reflect terribly well on you but you have entered guilty pleas and will be given credit for that."
The offences he admitted were committed against 16 different customers.
