ACCIDENT: Police were called to the scene after a crash on Malpas Road
A MOTORCYCLIST has been taken to hospital with minor injuries after a crash involving a car on Malpas Road earlier tonight.
Police were called to the scene, adjacent to the Spar shop, at 9.15pm on Monday night.
A Gwent Police spokesman said the motorcyclist suffered "very minor injuries consistent with coming off a bike" and was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital for a check-up as a precaution.
He added that the road was reopened shortly afterwards.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman added that two people were taken to hospital as a precaution
