POLICE have arrested a man after the theft of a trailer containing around £20,000 worth of biscuits from a Cwmbran factory.
Officers have been investigating the case after the theft from the Burton's Biscuit Company factory, based on Ty Coch Way in Cwmbran, at around 3.10am last Wednesday, June 17.
The empty trailer was located in the Warrington area later the same day, and since then further vehicles involved in the theft have been located and seized by police.
A 35-year-old man from the Liverpool area has been arrested on suspicion of theft.
Burton’s said the raid had been an “isolated incident” and that they were working closely with the police.
The company was unable to confirm the products stolen, but a spokeswoman confirmed the Torfaen factory produces Jammie Dodgers, Wagon Wheels, Mini Maryland Choc Chip Cookies and Cathedral City Baked Bites.
