A 67-YEAR-OLD Abergavenny man who was found dead after shooting himself in the chest killed himself when the balance of his mind was disturbed, an inquest has found.
Roy Ivor Meyrick, from Abergavenny, was found dead by his wife in the orchard adjacent to their house in November last year. A firearm and note were found with him.
Evidence from Mr Meyrick’s wife, Glynis, was read out at an inquest at Newport Coroner’s Court yesterday.
Coroner David Bowen yesterday said Mr Meyrick died from injury to the heart and determined his death as suicide whilst the balance of his mind was disturbed.
