Garden fence fires were 'deliberate'.
FIREFIGHTERS were called to several deliberate fires in Newport this evening.
Two garden fences were set alight in Ringland within a minute of each other. A fence was set on fire at Eisteddfod Walk in Ringland just after 6pm. A crew from Malpas Station used a hosereel jet to put out the blaze. Fencing was set alight on Glanwern Rise in Ringland and in a separate incident a skip was set on fire on Corporation Road, Newport, just after 7pm. A spokeswoman for the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the fires were deliberate and appealed for anyone with information to call 101.
