INQUESTS have been opened and adjourned for three months into the deaths of Chepstow couple Nigel and Stacey Anne Henderson.
Newport Coroners Court heard that police found the couple's bodies in the living room area of a residential property in Chepstow on Friday, June 19, after emergency services forced entry into the premises.
Mr Henderson, aged 52, and Mrs Henderson, aged 35, who would have turned 36 yesterday, were both pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Post mortems included the provisional cause of death for Mr Henderson as 'stab wounds to the trunk including the heart' and for Mrs Henderson 'stab wounds to the chest including the heart'.
Both post mortems were carried out by pathologist Dr Richard Jones at Royal Gwent Hospital.
Detective Constable Jon Lewis, of the coroners office, asked that the inquests be adjourned for three months to allow further enquiries to take place.
He added that an investigation was still ongoing and appealed for the release of the bodies so a funeral could take place.
Assistant Coroner Wendy James said she was satisfied with the identification of both Mr and Mrs Henderson and adjourned the inquests for three month pending further enquiries
