A WOMAN suffered smoke inhalation after falling asleep while cooking in the early hours of this morning.
A passer-by noticed smoke coming from a house in the Hengoed area at 4.16am and went inside where she saw a woman sleeping next to a chip pan fire.
A spokesman for the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said Aberbargoed and Caerphilly crews attended shortly after receiving the call, by which time the fire had been put out.
The woman was treated at the scene for her injuries.
