'Abusive' youths seen starting fires in Newport woods
NINE youths were reported lighting fires in woods near Newport last night.
Firefighters from Duffryn were called to a wooded area near Lilac Grove in Rogerstone at 8.21pm and extinguished the fires. Police also attended but the two girls and seven boys had left.
Jennie Griffiths, Head of South Wales Fire and Rescue Service Fire Control, said the youths had been described as “abusive”.
