CHARACTERS from the Disney film Frozen were among the main attractions at Blackwood Beach Party over the weekend.
Blackwood High Street was transformed into an urban beach for the annual event which saw hundreds of children take to the sand-filled streets.
The action-packed event, which kicked off at 9am on Saturday, had lots of activities for all the family to enjoy.
Whether it was honing your hula-hooping skills, taking silly snaps in the promenade style photo booth or watching the hilarious Punch and Judy shows, there were plenty of seaside activities on offer over the course of the weekend.
The town also featured marketplace style stalls selling a wide variety of food, crafts and unique gifts.
Patricia Cook, councillor for Blackwood, was among those in attendance. She said: “It’s a wonderful event for the town and great for footfall, which is much needed.
“The organisers have been so thoughtful and kept the taller items at the top end of the street away from retailers.
“Weather wise, they picked the right weekend for it, too, and the town is absolutely buzzing. It’s just so colourful and I loved the hula hoops.
“Blackwood has the forum and the roads to stage events like this and it’s getting more popular every year.”
