THE terrorist outrage in Tunisia is truly dreadful.

The ISIS gunman who took the lives of 38 innocent holidaymakers - the majority of them British - was no freedom fighter. He was a maniac. A murderer, pure and simple.

Our utmost sympathy goes to the families and friends of the victims of this horrific, cowardly attack. We wish those injured on Friday the speediest of recoveries.

And to those now considering cancelling planned holidays to Tunisia, we have one message. Don’t.

If people give in to fear and avoid travelling to places like Sousse then the terrorists have won.

If people denounce all Muslims, or Islam itself, as evil then the terrorists have won.

Division, fear, and distrust is precisely what ISIS intends to spread around the world.

The reaction of the Western world - and of the vast majority of Muslims - must be the same as it was after the 7/7 attacks in London ten years ago.

The day after the Tube and bus bombings that claimed 52 lives, Londoners were using public transport.

Yes, they were fearful. But they were also defiant.

They refused to let the terrorists change they way they lived their lives.

They would not let the terrorists win.

That is how we must all act in the wake of this latest atrocity - defiance in the face of cowardice and evil.
