THREE men and one woman have been arrested in Newport as police tackle the illegal supply of drugs in the city centre.
During June in separate incidents, police arrested 3 men aged 40, 22 and 27 for possession with intent to supply heroin and 1 man on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis.
Officers also arrested a 56 year old woman on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis. All arrested have been bailed pending further enquiries.
PS Steve Drayton from Newport Central police station said: “We listen to concerns of local residents and people working and visiting the City Centre and they have told us that the supply of illegal drugs is a big concern for them. We have acted on information given to us by the local community and we would like to thank them for their support in tackling this illegal and dangerous crime.”
