THE driving force behind a popular online blog charting life in Cwmbran has been recognised through a civic award.
Former Argus journalist Ben Black has edited Cwmbran Life, which features news, human interest stories and entertainment, since 2011.
The Bron Afon communications officer received a Civic Testimonial Award for his dedicated work delving into the places and characters of Cwmbran on Tuesday.
Torfaen Mayor Giles Davies presented the award at his parlour.
He said: “I think it’s really good how Ben gets the news out to the residents of Torfaen about what’s happening in the area.
“Ben does all his work for his blog voluntarily, and has won an award and recognition for his work. I thought he was a great choice to receive the Civic Testimonial Award.”
Ben, 38, said: “I started Cwmbran Life because I love Cwmbran.
“I’m over the moon to receive the award.
"My future plans for Cwmbran Life are just to keep doing it, to carry on providing Cwmbran residents with all the good things that happen”
