A NEWPORT restaurant is the only one in Wales to receive a Good Food award for 2015.
The Ruperra Arms at Bassaleg, run by head chef Steve White, was among more than 70 eateries in the UK to receive the award earlier this week.
Every year the Good Food Awards- a website run by Good Food Award Limited- assesses food premises across the UK by compiling thousands of food reviewers and their feedback to score each venue.
Once scored, a type of league table is formed and only the very best are invited to carry the award.
Steve White, head chef of the The Ruperra Arms, said: “It’s a great accolade for us. Having won best in Wales at the inaugural Food Award Wales earlier this year and now getting our second award in a year is fantastic.”
The Good Food Award said The Ruperra Arms was recognised through customer feedback for demonstrating ‘exceptional levels of food quality, service and value’ when compared to industry benchmarks in their category.
