Six Villages - Brynawel, Cwmfelinfach, Wattsville, Wyllie, Ynysddu and Gelli Groes.
Card Making Group: A Cwmfelinfach craft group is growing strong with members ranging in age from the young to the.... not so young - now it is offering a custom card service to make your big days extra special.
The Cwmfelinfach Community Church Craft Club (CCCCC) meets every Monday at the Church Hall on Maindee Road from 1pm to 3.30pm.
Due to popular demand the group has extended to run another class.
This one holds its meetings from 6.30pm until 8.30pm on Monday evenings.
The cards they produce at the class are second to none, as will be testified by residents who have attended their open day last October and purchased their stunning greetings and Christmas cards.
Class leader Anne Williams has extended an invitation for anyone come along and have a cup of coffee and see what the group gets up to during one of their fun-filledmeetings.
Colourful cards are always on display in the church and can be purchased on club nights.
If you need a card for that extra special occasion then the group will make one to suit your needs.
Siloh Chapel Coffee Afternoon: Why not go along to the fortnightly Coffee Afternoon at Siloh Chapel in Gelli Groes?
It's meeting this Thursday, between 1.30pm and 3pm, and you will be sure of a warm welcome.
The talented ones among you may like to help the missions the chapel supports by taking part in some craft activities at the same time, such as making simple children's puppets (materials and instructions provided).
Coffee afternoons will take place every second and fourth Thursdays in the month.
If you want some more details of other activities at Siloh please call the Reverend Diane Notley on 01633 673826.
Ynysddu Allotment Association is Growing Strong: There is a resurgence of interest in all things horticultural in the valley and Ynysddu Allotment Association is pleased every plot on their ground is taken.
The allotments are situated next to the village's primary school and although it's a busy time for the plot holders, they have been very pleased to help out with the school's allotment project.
When the school first took over a plot, an allotment member donated a greenhouse and everyone helped to move and erect it.
Another member brought his cultivator to turn over the soil for them.
Everyone helps each other out on the allotments and they are all are looking forward to a good growing season.
Enriched Curriculum Day: This Friday will be a busy day for the children at Ynysddu Primary.
They are having an enriched curriculum day when pupils will participate in an array of activities.
These will include visits from a poet and a goalkeeper from Cardiff City football Club, who will work with all children during the day.
And if that is not enough on the same day the school council is having a mad hair day when each child will pay 50p to style their hair in a way that's funky, punky or even like a monkey.
The children will buy playground games with the money raised.
Under 13's Rugby Opportunity: If you are in school Year 8 and would like to play Under 13's rugby, please come along to train at Ynysddu Rugby Club.
There is a change of training session to that advertised last week. For details, phone Karen on 01495 223591.
Scrap booking Club: How many of you have precious photographs scattered all around the house?
For those of you who enjoy craftwork you may like to join a group that can show you how to collate your photos and create memories in a beautiful hand-crafted album.
Why not join the scrap booking club, held at the Baptist Community Church Hall on the second Thursday of every month from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
The members are very friendly and there is always plenty of tea and coffee on tap.
Let There Be Light: The residents of Wyllie village are pleased with the new lights on the path leading from the village to the main road at the Pontgam bus stop.
