A MAN was taken to hospital after his car crashed into a lamppost in Aberbeeg this morning.
One road was closed because of the "serious accident" at around 8.50am this morning. It remained shut until 12.30pm.
The man was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny with non life- threatening injuries.
Just one car was involved in the crash, which happened on Pantddu Road in Aberbeeg.
The crash happened near Abertillery Hospital. Pantddu Road, which is the back road between Aberbeeg and Trinant, is closed at the Aberbeeg junction.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at just after 8am this morning to reports of a vehicle colliding with a lamppost in the Bute Place area of Aberbeeg.
"We attended with a rapid response vehicle and emergency ambulance and a male adult was conveyed to Nevill Hall Hospital with a non life-threatening injury.”
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said they were unaware of the crash.
