NEW PILL YOUTH WORKER: On June 4, Pill's first full-time youth worker will be taking up his new placement. Pill Communities First and Pill Millennium Centre full-time youth worker will be taking up his new placement.
Pill Communities First and Pill Millennium Centre Trust would like to wish Musa every success in his new job, and we are sure he will get a warm welcome from the community.
Musa was not only chosen by Communities First, but was also interviewed by local teenagers, whose involvement made sure the right person received the job.
The six teenagers, who gave up their time and deserve a thank-you, are Rico Zulkarnain, Lewis Enos, Luke Burnell-Morgan, Danielle Seivwright, Sarah Delahaye and Lataesha Harrison.
PILL MILLENNIUM CENTRE: Due to the fire that closed Pillgwenlly Millennium Centre in February, most of the rooms and main sports hall were unusable.
Now all the suites are open and the contractors are in the final stages of completing the main sports hall.

BANK HOLIDAY PRAM RACE: On Monday, May 28, the annual pram race will take place.
For those who've never been before, a mother (usually a man) and grown-up baby dress up and run along a designated route through Pill, calling in local pubs, downing half-pints, and finishing up at Pill Millennium Centre.
There is a £50 cash prize for the first past the line. Following this is a family fun day with refreshments, stalls, face painting, and a bouncy castle. This is to help fund Pill Carnival. Please come along and support us.

CARNIVAL QUEEN: Calling all young ladies between the ages of five and 18 for Pill Carnival Queen. Judging takes place on Sunday, June 24. All entrants must live in Newport.
First prize £50, runner-up £25. There are also prizes for the four court ladies and four flower girls who will be on the float that heads the procession on carnival day. Dresses, etc, are provided.
