LAST week we feature a picture of the Old Globe Inn, St Johns Crescent, Rogerstone.
This picture was found in the Images of Wales, Rogerstone by Kim Fry.
The book explains that it in 1844 the Old Globe Inn was believed to be owned by Sir Charles Morgan and occupied at that time by Samuel Rosser.
Letters sent in:
THE Now and Then this week is the Globe Pub in Rogerstone.
I spent many happy hours with my friends in there.
What a shame it is now shut.
Kevin Hart, Rogerstone
Comments from the South Wales Argus website:
LOOKS like the Globe Inn public house that was turned into a Asian restaurant in Rogerstone which I believe is being turned back into a private house.

THE Old Globe. Has been bought and is being turned into a private residence (doing a lovely job too).

YES it’s the Old Globe Rogerstone, and yes it’s been turned into a house. I spoke to the owner a while back, a lot of work to do.
