HUNDREDS of people have enjoyed the sunshine at Greenmeadow Community Farm in Cwmbran today.
Families were treated to a range of activities, shows and animal petting at the farm’s annual show, including various exhibits, 15th and 17th century re-enactments from the Marcher Stuarts group and a demonstration from the Usk Valley Gun Dog group.
Along with the wide range of family fun, many entered into the flower and vegetable shows, which were judged in the exhibition barn.
Commercial manager of Greenmeadow Farm, Kate Holly, said she was delighted by this year’s excellent weather and turnout.
“We try and add something each year to drawn people in, we get a lot of people on site so we try and cater for them as well as putting on lots of events and exhibits," said the 39-year-old. "This year we've had Airborne, who perform bike and tightrope stunts come and put on shows for us, and we've had lots of different things for everyone.
“We’ve been running the show for a long time and it really depends on the weather if people turn up or not, but this year the weather is better than what we could have expected."
Greenmeadow Show has now been running for 26 years, and Miss Holly said she hopes it will continue for many more to come.
“It’s been great this year and once again we’ll be putting on the show next year," she added. "It’s just knowing what acts and events to put on."
