THE new bridge which will cross the railway line at Bridge Street in Newport is set to be lifted into place.
The enormous crane which will carry the bridge is being assembled ready for the operation which will happen over the weekend.
In a letter to residents, Network Rail said that from September 16 "until November" they will be changing the temporary traffic at the junction of Bridge Street, Clytha Park Road, Godfrey Road and Terrace.
The letter said they will be installing temporary traffic lights at this junction so that they are able complete the "necessary works to the highway".
