MORE than 60 young people turned up to audition for a part in this year’s Cinderella panto on the weekend.
Children showed off their dancing, singing and acting abilities in order to try and win themselves a spot on the cast of the Cinderella pantomime.
Judges from the auditions said it took a number of rounds in order to finally cast the two teams of young people, who travelled from all over Gwent to take part.
In the end 17 children from the ages of eight to 14 were chosen to take part, and are, Mia Howells, 11, Emily Harris, 14, Kieron Ford, 14, Samien Hoosien, 11, Jasmine Hunter, 11, Georgia Eve Sanderson, 11, Cody Akira Davies, 9, Isobella Regan, 13, Mia Louise Dorrian, 9, Ethan Cain, 11, Paige Cain, 13 and Evan Seignos, nine, are all from Newport, Caitlin Smith, seven, and Harri Rhodes, eight both from Torfaen, Ellie Doman, 11 from Caerphilly and Beth Caitlin Tidey, 13, from Blaneau Gwent.
Produced in collaboration with the Hiss and Boo Company, and starring Richard Elis, Elin Llwyd and Lloyd Green, the pantomime will be full of magic and runs for a month from Tuesday, November 29 this year until Monday, January 2, 2017.
The children who auditioned at the theatre will feature in two teams, performing fun routines.
