The man who was seriously injured in yesterday's incident remains in University Hospital of Wales and is now in a stable condition.
The 43-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder remains in police custody.
Police thanked the members of the public who helped the victim at the time of the incident, and they urged them and any other witnesses to get in touch as they may be able to assist with enquiries.

A MAN has been arrested after another man sustained "serious injuries" in Caerphilly.
Gwent Police were called to Cardiff Road at 5.45pm on Thursday evening where a 61-year-old man had sustained serious injuries.
He was taken to the University Hospital of Wales where he currently remains in a life-threatening condition.
A 43-year-old man also from the Caerphilly area has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in police custody.
Local Inspector Jason White said: "An investigation is underway and we currently have officers in the area carrying out further enquiries and providing reassurance to the local community.
"We are fully committed to establishing all the circumstances surrounding what happened this evening and ensuring that the appropriate action is taken against the individual responsible."
