A GWENT artist had the chance to present a drawing to one of his favourite singers this week.

26-year-old Nathan Wyburn, of Ebbw Vale, met Spice Girl Mel C in Cardiff on Thursday where she was recording an interview and acoustic session of her new single Anymore for BBC Wales, and gave her his picture.

Mr Wyburn said he was rather star struck when meeting Mel C, and said: “I've been a huge Spice Girls fan for 20 years when i was a child so it was great that my art got me to meet one of them.

“I'm over the moon, she's probably in my top 10 performers so it was an honour for me.”

After presenting the portrait to Mel C, Mr Wyburn then travelled to the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff, to present singer and impressionist Christina Bianco with a pizza portrait.

Mr Wyburn is known for making pictures with characteristically unorthodox methods, regularly using food and other objects.

He was also featured on Britain’s Got Talent in 2011, where he created a portrait of judge and comedian Michael McIntyre using Marmite on toast.

More of his most recent works include a portrait of comedian Greg Davies made out of spaghetti, and a portrait of Ronaldo which Mr Wyburn made with his feet.
