A BODY was found on Friday evening at a Porthcawl beach by South Wales Police in the search for a missing Chepstow pensioner.
Following the discovery, the family of Eddie Wise, 74, who was reported missing on Monday, July 18, have been informed.
Officers were called to the Merthyr Mawr sand dunes, close to the Newton Beach area of Porthcawl at just before 5.20pm after a body was found.
A spokeswoman from the police said that the investigation is ongoing to determine the identity of the body.
“Recovery has taken place and enquiries are ongoing to identify the body,” she said.
“Officers have informed the family of 74-year-old Eddie Wise who has been missing from Chepstow since July 18.”
Last month, police officers found Mr Wise’s missing blue Nissan Note, which was parked near the dipping bridge in Merthyr Mawr in Ogmore By Sea.
