PARC Pantry have announced they are opening a third venue in Newport.
Currently, the business has a cafe called Parc Pantry in Malpas and the Tea Rooms at Bellevue Park.
The new venture - called Parc Central - will be based on High Street, in the former premises of Pretentious Burger Kitchen, and will sell alcohol.
Owners Matt Ellis and Ant Cook said they hope they can help create a thriving independent quarter in the city.
Parc Central will be a pop-up venue for six months starting from November but the aim is for it to become a permanent fixture in the city centre. It will serve cocktails as well as deli based dishes and street food.
Mr Ellis said it will be open on both Friday and Saturday nights.
"We are really excited," he said. "There is an awful lot of people supporting that end of town - we recognise there is a bit of a split in terms of commercial and the independents. We looked at Friars Walk but we chose to give the independent side a real good go.
"We hope with places like Tiny Rebel, The Murenger and a few more we can really help to get that side of town back to where it should be. It only takes a few people to take a chance on it; to see what the area is capable of and you will soon find negativity turns into positivity."
He said they have a lot of interesting ideas for the new venue including the possibility of a house band.
