A TECHNOLOGY firm, which moved to Cwmbran in 2014, has celebrated the unveiling of its Torfaen office with a visit from the minister for skills and science.
Julie James AM opened the office for the Oxford Computer Group (OCG), a specialist in identity and security solutions, at Brecon House on the Llantarnam Industrial Estate on September 28.
The opening also celebrated the company’s new partnership with the local Tech Club FYD charity who are supported by the national Follow Your Dreams charity.
Ms James said: “We believe a strong technology sector is critical to Wales and it is very welcome to see an innovative company investing here, creating high quality jobs.”
During the ceremony, OCG presented the Tech Club FYD charity representatives with a donation of two Raspberry Pi's and an Xbox One to help the club in developing the technology skills of its members.
“We know the children will be very excited to get their hands on the Pi’s and the Xbox, and we’re sure that they will go a long way toward helping their development,” said Moira Hookings, the chair of the Tech Club FYD.
Since opening in 2014, OCG has grown in terms of personnel and following its move to Brecon House, the company has taken on another 10 employees and expects further growth in the near future.
Neil Coughlan, OCG’s managing director, said: “I’m thrilled that we have been able to cement our position in the South Wales technology arena, and look forward to continuing our rapid growth.”
