St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club is among those supporting our We’re Backing Newport campaign. We spoke to director of sales ROBIN CRAINE.
“ST PIERRE Marriott Hotel & Country Club is situated just twenty minutes from Newport, which is a key feeder market for us.
Since the 2010 Ryder Cup, NATO Conference in 2012 and the opening of the Friars Walk development we believe that Newport’s image and profile are on the up on a national and international stage.
As a key business in Monmouthshire and the Newport markets, we are keen to support the local area, and play a part in improving the image of Newport.
Newport has seen huge changes over the last few years, with new businesses opening, businesses expanding and Newport being put on the map with the high profile events hosted in the city.
We want to help the city to be seen as a place that is great to live in, socialise in and do business in.
St Pierre is only located twenty minutes from Newport, and a number of the employees at St Pierre live in and around Newport.
We work with many businesses from Newport, and have built strong relationships with companies from many sectors.
St Pierre has recently won an award at the Monmouthshire Business Awards for Socially Responsible Business.
Over the last 3 years we have raised over £20,000 for St Davids Hospice based in Newport via our annual Christmas Fayre.
We also work with Coleg Gwent and other Newport-based schools and colleges to offer student placements and apprenticeships.
The resort provides an escape from the busy city life, whilst it is only 20 minutes away, it can feel a million miles away.
St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club is set in a historic 14th Century Manor House located just outside Chepstow, with the 11th Century Church on St Peter on site.
It is rumoured that King Henry V stored the Crown Jewels in tower at St Pierre, whilst he went to France to fight in the Battle Of Agincourt.
St Pierre is set in 400 acres of picturesque parkland, with two golf courses, one of which is a Championship Course, which hosted a number of European Tournaments and the Solheim Cup.
The hotel has 148 bedrooms, and 11 versatile function rooms, perfect for any occasion.”
