LAST week we featured a picture of Crane Street, Pontypool.
In 1852 Pontypool Crane Street railway station was built to help with improved transport links in South Wales for coal. This first line was built between Newport and Pontypool, was expanded to Blaenavon in 1854 and enlarged further in 1894. This line was closed in 1962.
