THE closure of the Brynglas Tunnel is causing delays in Newport.
The eastbound section of the Brynglas Tunnel on the M4 was closed on Saturday, May 20 and will re-open tomorrow morning at 6am while refurbishing works were carried out.
Trevor Morris, 54, who lives in Pill, said: "There is a lot of traffic all over the place. I had been away for a short holiday and I came back to this.
"It's madness to shut a tunnels on a weekend because lots of people use it."
Glenys Rees, who also lives in Newport, said: "We were having friends, who live away, round to our house and it took them a ridiculous amount of time to get here.
"I'm telling you, the traffic has been caused by the shutting of the tunnels.
"I cannot wait until the tunnels re-open."
