THE inaugural South Wales Argus Health and Care Awards have been launched to celebrate the excellent work of inspirational and dedicated staff working in these sectors across Gwent.
Nominations are open for 15 categories, selected with the aim of recognising the sterling efforts of individuals and teams across a broad spectrum of interests.
“We plan to celebrate and promote the achievements of people who work in the health and care sectors,” said Nicole Garnon, editor of the South Wales Argus.
“I am looking forward to finding out more about the amazing done work by individuals and organisations in our region.”
The awards are held in association with St Joseph’s Hospital.
Categories are:
l Innovative Care in the Care Home Sector;
l GP Practice of the Year;
l Health and Care Professional of the Year;
l Early Years Award;
l Healthy Neighbourhood Award;
l Best Patient and Public Involvement Award;
l Volunteer of the Year;
l Third Sector or Community Team of the Year;
l Mental Health Team of the Year;
l Hospital Team of the Year;
l Health Campaign of the Year;
l Best Innovation Award;
l Research Impact Award;
l Together We Achieve Award;
l Outstanding Achievement Award.
Nominations close at 5pm on Friday, August 25.
A panel of judges will decide the winners in September, and they will be revealed at a special presentation event at Chepstow Racecourse in October.
