THIS is the moment veteran Newport West MP met the man who has been playing him on stage in the West End.
Anthony O'Donnell, who appeared in James Bond blockbuster Skyfall and television programmes including Gavin and Stacey, portrayed Mr Flynn in Committee: (A New Musical).
The play at London's Donmar Warehouse Theatre dramatised a hearing into the collapse of charity Kids Company by the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee in 2015, in which Mr Flynn played a key role.
The pair met after the Labour MP saw the show last week. In a post on his blog he said: "It was a strange thrill to watch a greatly gifted actor brilliantly reproducing my voice, mannerisms and questions."
He added they had both attended St Illtyd's College in Cardiff, albeit in different decades, and sang the school song together.
"We share many friends, especially from the Splott area of Cardiff," he said.
"We will have another get together to catch up on many events."
The show has since ended its run.
