THE closing date for entries for the South Wales Argus Health and Care Awards has been extended.
The awards have been launched to celebrate inspirational and dedicated workers in the health and care industry.
You can nominate people or organisations in the 15 award categories until 5pm, September 4.
Winners will be announced at a special presentation event at Chepstow Racecourse on October 19.
Categories include GP Practice of the Year, Early Years Award, Healthy Neighbourhood Award ,Volunteer of the Year and Mental Health Team of the Year.
The awards have been backed by the Welsh Government’s health secretary Vaughan Gething, who spoke at a launch event at the Royal College of Nursing in Cardiff earlier this week.
Launching the awards, South Wales Argus editor Nicole Garnon said: “We are delighted to launch the inaugural Health and Care Awards.
“With these awards we aim to recognise the hard work and dedication of health care professionals and those who work in the care industry. This is an area where the tireless work of individuals isn’t always highlighted. We plan to celebrate and promoted the achievements of people who work in these fields.
“I am looking forward to finding out more about the amazing done work by individuals and organisations in our region.”
