A FILM crew has been spotted around Newport with some well-known faces.
The feature film Two for Joy is being filmed in the city, at schools and in the Spytty Park area.
Directed and written by Tom Beard, the cast includes Billie Piper, Samantha Morton, Daniel Mays, Emilia Jones, and Bella Ramsey.
Actress-turned-producer Sadie Frost told the South Wales Argus: “Two for Joy is the story of a mother, played by Samantha Morton, and her two children, and she is suffering with bipolar disorder and it’s about how she deals with that.
“We have been filming in Weymouth and here in Newport and we have been working with a lot of locals and have cast people here, some of the children in Lliswerry High School.
“Everyone has been really welcoming and interested in what we have been doing.
She added: “The film will out in cinemas sometime next year, around next September.”
Laura Upton from St Julians' dog Nelson is an extra in the film. She said: “I saw an advert on Facebook and they were looking for a Staffy, and I think he is going to be a thug dog in it.
“This is first film, so he’s had a bath especially and then he sat in the mud. I’m not sure if he will play the hard dog. It’s been a really interesting experience.”
