THE board of the organisation which will be responsible for collecting Wales' first taxes in nearly 800 years will meet for the first time today, Wednesday.
The Welsh Revenue Authority (WRA) has been set up ahead of the introduction of land transaction tax, which will replace stamp duty, and landfill disposals tax in Wales next April.
And today the organisation's board will meet for the first time to discuss how it will be run.
Speaking ahead of the meeting in Treforest, chairwoman Kathryn Bishop said: "Taxpayers will want guidance as the new Welsh taxes are introduced and reassurance that the collection process is efficient and secure.
"The organisation is already working hard on this, bringing in expertise from elsewhere in Wales and in the UK."
And chief executive Dyfed Alsop said: "The WRA will work in partnership with taxpayers and tax professionals, supporting them in paying tax."
HMRC will continue to be responsible for all other taxes in Wales in April.
