A FILM based on a Newport’s author first book will be coming out in Netflix next month.
The Kissing Booth, by Beth Reekles, will be released in the streaming service on Friday, May 11.
Ms Reekles, who is from the city's Rogerstone area but is currently living in Swindon, said: “It is really exciting – I can’t wait to actually see the film as I have not seen it yet.
“Up until now, it has been quite surreal. Now that we have a coming out date I can talk about it more.”
The 22-year-old started writing The Kissing Booth in between her GCSEs when she was 16-years-old and a paperback version of the romance novel was published in 2013.
Shortly after publication UK-based production company Comics purchased the rights for The Kissing Booth movie.
The Kissing Booth tells the story of Elle, who runs a kissing booth at the school's carnival, when she locks lips with Noah and her life is turned upside down. You can order your copy here amzn.to/2EXioC5
