FOOTAGE has emerged online of the inside of the abandoned Newport nightclub where a fire started on Friday night.
The fire, at the old Zanzibar nightclub on Stow Hill, gutted the building and the Grade II listed Bethel Community Church next door.
But two weeks before the fire, urban exporers CollidingPlanets Exploring shared this video showing the state of the building.
A 43-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman from Newport were arrested by Gwent Police the day after the fire, but today a police spokesman confirmed both have been released under investigation.
The video appears to show drug paraphernalia and needles, and that part of the ceiling had already collapsed before Friday's fire.
The emergence of the video led to an email, sent to Newport City Council by conservative party member Michael Enea, which raised concerns over it's safety eight days before the fire.
But the council have since insisted that they took "immediate action" after recieving Mr Enea's email.
