THE Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will visit Gwent in early July to meet some of the county’s traditional workers and local voluntary organisations.
The royals' visit to Gwent is part of a wider week-long tour of Wales which also commemorates important milestones such as the 70th anniversary of the National Health Service and the 150th anniversary of the Heart of Wales railway line.
The first stop on the tour will mark the 90th anniversary of the Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations (GAVO), which works to promote volunteering and charitable activity.
On Monday, July 2, the prince will meet local volunteer groups at Gwent Scouting's Botany Bay camp site, Tintern, and inspect displays of their work.
Following other engagements in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Cardiff, the prince will return to Gwent on Thursday, July 5, to meet patients and staff at Ebbw Vale's Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan.
The prince will then meet the restoration team at Llwyn Celyn, a medieval hall house near Abergavenny, where he will also attend a meeting of the Black Mountains Land Use Partnership, an association of farmers and graziers who rear livestock on the mountains.
The royal concludes with a trip to North Wales.
